Yoga made me a better Surfer in my 50's

 


I love doing yoga but it just a couple of years ago, I started to incorporate if into my lifestyle as a fundamental practice. Even if I've only stretched for a couple of minutes a day and I've always felt great  but it wasn't until I got a few injuries while surfing that I really started to do it more often.. I started researching and learned that Yoga is the #1 training and lifestyle practice that all the top athletes in this sport did . 

It improved their surfing abilities, prevent injuries and heal faster.  Other physical benefits of yoga include:
  • increased muscle strength and tone
  • improved athletic performance
  • circulatory and cardio health
  • helping to rid of belly fat and weight reduction
  • increased flexibility
  • helps in lowering blood sugar
  • helps relieve back pain
  • improves balance and energy
There are many scientific research that proved these to be among many other benefits as well which is why I feel so I felt comfortable doing Restorative Yoga as well as Vinyasa flow. It helps to me to heal my body from working and those long surf sessions, it also helps me maintain or lose weight and an overall good feeling of health and wellness. 

Yoga has many benefits and coupled with anti-inflammatory herbs can do wonders.
