There's a mantra that Surfers have adopted from the Japanese Culture when traveling and it goes "Leave a place better than you found it".
Let's get straight to the point. Having to apply those spray sunscreen screens in those aerosol doesn't work very long. First of all the wind is blowing it into the atmosphere more than on you and I've noticed People burn a lot quicker using them. So do they even work?
Why it's a must that Surfers use eco-friendly sunscreen?
Everything in the Ocean is affected by what goes in the Ocean. One of those things is and ingredient in quite a few sunscreens that have a suspected carcinogen called Benzophenone that causes the degradation of octocrylene in sunscreens over time.. These have chemical compounds that can cause skin irritations and allergic reactions. I've noticed People at the beach get sunburn a lot faster after using these ingredients too.

The good news is Mineral Zinc oxide sunscreens provides a full spectrum of protection against ultraviolet radiation. The bad news is it's super thick so you have to rub it in for a while but who cares, it's worth it right? Zinc oxide is one of the most effective sun protection products on the market.
It's up to us, the Beach Community to support companies who produce eco-friendly products with best practices. They're not had to find like it use to be, they say it right on the label now.
